New Apprenticeships

Traineeships are available to full-time and part-time employees. The State Government recognises 2 categories of employee

• New Employee – employed by current employer for less than 3 months
• Existing Employee – employed for longer than 3 months

New employees may be eligible for both Federal Incentives and State funding. Existing employees do not qualify for State Government incentives.

Existing employees may be eligible for Federal Incentives. Some of the conditions that need to be met by existing employees are

• The traineeship need to be Cert 3 or 4
• It needs to span over 2 years or longer
• The trainee cannot have received a Cert 3 or 4 qualification in the past 7 years.

AWC Business Solutions can arrange a meeting with a N.A.C representative to discuss which employees from your business qualify for the New Apprenticeship Incentives Program.

Payroll Tax rebates may also be available for employers in South Australia who have trainees who are under 25 years of age.
